After-hours bail attorneys in Phoenix and Durban

If someone has just been arrested, send the person’s full name, police station, arrest time and alleged charge. We will assess the immediate procedure and the next court step from the information available.

No attorney can guarantee release. The available procedure depends on the formal charge, police station, authorised decision-maker and stage of the case.

First response

What can an after-hours bail attorney do?

The first work is to verify the detention, identify the allegation and establish whether any lawful release procedure can be considered before the first court appearance. An attorney may contact the relevant station or official, explain the process to the family and begin preparing the information needed for bail.

Some cases may be considered for police or prosecutor-authorised bail. Other cases require a court application. Our detailed bail applications guide explains these routes and the factors a court may consider.

Release before court

Can bail be granted at the police station?

Potential release before the first court appearance depends on the alleged offence and the statutory authority of the official considering it. Police bail and prosecutor-authorised bail apply within defined legal limits. An attorney cannot convert a matter that requires court bail into a station release.

If release is authorised, confirm the official amount, place of payment, receipt and first court date. Bail remains part of an active criminal case, and every condition must be followed.

If court bail is required

Preparation should begin with accurate personal circumstances and the formal charge. Depending on the matter, the court may require evidence or submissions about residence, employment, dependants, travel, previous convictions, pending cases and the risks relevant to the interests of justice.

The underlying allegation also shapes the work that follows. Read about representation for assault charges, fraud and theft charges, or the broader criminal defence process.

Use the form for a summons, investigation, later court date or fuller consultation request. For a current arrest, telephone or WhatsApp first.

Keep the first message concise. Do not send original documents, passwords or banking details.

These details help flag time-sensitive matters and allow our attorneys to identify possible conflicts. An enquiry does not confirm representation.
